About FAAWN

FAAWN brings together food aid providers across West Northamptonshire.

Our members include food banks, food larders, community fridges, pantries, food clubs and food waste reduction projects. Each organisation works in its own way, but we share a common aim: to support people facing financial hardship and help them move towards greater stability.

Many FAAWN members also offer wider support alongside food. This may include cooking skills, growing fruit and vegetables, budgeting support, debt advice, wellbeing support, advocacy and signposting to other local services.

FAAWN was set up to help food aid providers work together. The alliance supports collaboration, shared learning, training, funding opportunities and the sharing of surplus resources where possible.

Members meet quarterly and work under a Memorandum of Understanding, agreed in March 2023. This sets out how FAAWN is governed, including how the FAAWN board is appointed and how new members can join.

Support FAAWN Members

If you would like to support a food aid charity or group in West Northamptonshire, please contact the organisation directly.

FAAWN is not currently able to accept donations centrally for all members, although this is something we are working towards.

Food, household essentials and, in some cases, toys and clothes are gratefully received throughout the year. Many organisations also run seasonal appeals, providing gifts, treats and meals at special times of year.

Financial donations make a real difference. They help local charities cover running costs, buy essential supplies and continue supporting people in their communities.

FAAWN members also rely on volunteers. Volunteers help keep services running, reduce costs and connect projects with the local community.

To donate, volunteer or offer support, please contact a local food aid organisation directly.
