Community Larders
also called Food Pantries or Social Supermarkets
Community Larders provide affordable food and essentials for ongoing support, helping people before they reach crisis point.
Purpose: to provide immediate, short-term support during a financial crisis.
Larders are different from food banks. They are usually for ongoing support with food costs, rather than emergency crisis help. Each service works in its own way. Some may ask you to become a member, pay a small weekly amount or meet local eligibility rules.
